We should Skype sometime - as I'm working with Ricoeur, we might have things in common as you probably know he has a phenomenological basis to his narrative hermeneutics. I love the idea of scrivener, but need something that works across home and work platforms, and we all know what institutions IT policies are like. Let's chat sometime!! :)Ian Robsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11960287587996066679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3984487025516204486.post-1486001763456946372013-01-03T11:37:29.249+00:002013-01-03T11:37:29.249+00:00Hi Ian. I just love the serendipitous connections that twitter creates! Now here I am reading your blog and agreeing madly with so many of your research trials and triumphs. I'm roughly at the same stage as you in my EdD, in which I'm looking at English teachers' experiences with graphic novels as classroom texts. I'm taking a hermeneutic phenomenological approach. I'm in the early stages of analysis and am telling myself to "get on with it." I tried NVivo, but the two of us just didn't get on. Am now using Scrivener for all my thesis work, including coding. It's a little more clunky than NVivo, but I feel more comfortable with it–and since we'll be together for some time, that's important! All the best with your research–I'll be following your progress with interest :)dilaycockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04457591370420135559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3984487025516204486.post-87046602664298477502013-01-03T08:25:05.291+00:002013-01-03T08:25:05.291+00:00Hovering on the edge ... of something new, an adve...Hovering on the edge ... of something new, an adventure in a way, of making new discoveries and weaving together new thoughts. Also blank paper to jot notes on, ditch technology and go back to living with the paper. Print the transcripts, write notes on paper. Being physical with the data helped me too.
